musiC TECH
All KS3 pupils will experience music-making using ICT in both Year 7 and 8. Using the latest industry standard software Logic Pro, pupils will investigate a variety of genres, compose music, and begin to learn about the art of mixing, using the same techniques as professional producers.

MUSIC THEORY
All students at KS3 will learn music theory as part of their curriculum music lessons. In addition to this, many students receive extra theory tuition to help them progress as a musician. Music theory is important because it helps you understand how music works, improves your ability to read and write music, enhances creativity, and allows musicians to communicate effectively. It also helps you perform more expressively and learn new music faster by recognising patterns.
MUSIC
QUALIFICATIONS
Graded music exams are a key part of a child’s musical development. At Morpeth, students who are ready for either theory or practical music exams will have the option of being entered. Taking instrumental exams helps track your progress, improve skills, build confidence, and earn recognition. They provide structured goals and valuable feedback to help you grow as a musician.
